30-Day Campaign: The Urgency of the Harvest in Africa 3

Day 20: Ministering to Muslims in Love

1 Peter 3:15* – “Always be prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect.”

Sharing the gospel with Muslims requires patience, understanding, and genuine love. Building relationships often opens doors for deeper conversations about faith.

Islam is the fastest-growing religion in Africa, with countries like Sudan, Niger, and Mauritania being predominantly Muslim. Despite this, many Muslims are open to learning about Jesus.

Ideas for Reaching More People:

  1. Train missionaries in Islamic theology to foster respectful dialogue.
  2. Develop Quranic bridge-building techniques to point Muslims to Christ using concepts they already know.
  3. Host interfaith dialogues where mutual understanding can lead to opportunities to share the gospel.

Pray for softened hearts, give to fund outreach to Muslims, and go to engage with Muslims in your community.

Day 21: Leveraging Social Media for Evangelism

Mark 13:10 – “And the gospel must first be proclaimed to all nations.”

Social media has become a powerful tool for spreading the gospel. Platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok allow believers to share the good news with people they’ve never met.

Africa has over 650 million mobile phone users**, many of whom access social media daily. This makes it a fertile ground for digital evangelism.

Ideas for Reaching More People:

  1. Create short gospel videos tailored to specific African cultures.
  2. Launch social media campaignstargeting unreached people groups with Scripture-based content.
  3. Use hashtags and trends to connect with younger audiences in creative ways.

Pray for online ministries, give to support digital outreach efforts, and go online to share your testimony.

Introduction to Unreached People Groups in Burundi

‎As the Azusa Gospel campaign Team prepare for a mission trip to Burundi, we will like to share a topic that’s been on our heart: the Unreached People Groups (UPGs).

‎You might be asking, “What is a UPG?” A UPG is a community with no indigenous believers to evangelize their own people, and they have less than 2% evangelical Christians. A step beyond that is an Unengaged Unreached People Group (UUPG), which is a UPG with no known missionary or church-planting efforts at all.

‎While Burundi is a majority-Christian nation, there are still 5 distinct UPGs who have very little access to the Gospel. The number of people in these groups who could be lost without a witness is estimated to be over 55,000 souls. 💔

‎These people are not just numbers; they are individuals with names, families, and stories. The truth is, while many in Burundi have heard the name of Jesus, these specific communities are still waiting to hear the Good News.

‎Please join me in praying for them! God’s heart is for all people, and He wants every nation, tribe, and tongue to know him.
