30-Day Campaign: The Urgency of the Harvest in Africa 2

Day 11: Partnering with Local Churches

Acts 14:23 – “And when they had appointed elders for them in every church, with prayer and fasting, they committed them to the Lord in whom they had believed.”

Local churches are central to sustaining the harvest. By partnering with existing communities of faith, missionaries can multiply their efforts and ensure long-term discipleship.

In Ethiopia  partnerships between international missions and local churches have led to the rapid growth of Christianity in rural areas.

In 2025 we can take advantage of the harvest in Africa by  Forming alliances with churches to plant new congregations and train local leaders for effective ministry.

Pray for strong partnerships, give to fund church-planting efforts, and go to serve alongside local leaders.

Day 12: The Need for Bible Translation

Romans 10:17 – “So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.”

Faith cannot grow without access to the Word of God. Yet, many African languages still lack a complete Bible, leaving millions without the ability to engage with Scripture.

Over 1,800 languages  in Africa still need Bible translation work. Countries like Chad, Angola, and Madagascar are home to many of these unreached language groups.

Support Bible translation initiatives and support them train local translators to accelerate the process.

Pray for translators, give to fund translation projects, and go to support literacy and Scripture distribution.

Day 13: Equipping Missionaries for Success

Ephesians 4:12 – “To equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ.”

Missionaries need both spiritual and practical tools to thrive in the field. Without proper preparation, the challenges of ministry can become overwhelming.

Many missionaries in West Africa face burnout due to lack of training, mentorship, and financial support.

Establish training programs that equip missionaries with the skills to navigate cultural, spiritual, and logistical challenges.

Pray** for more training centers, give to fund missionary education, and consider how you can go to mentor and support new laborers.

Day 14: Reaching Youth in Africa

Ecclesiastes 12:1 “Remember also your Creator in the days of your youth…”

Africa has the youngest population in the world, with over 60% of the population under the age of 25. The youth are both a challenge and an opportunity for the gospel.

Many young people in South Africa, Nigeria, and Kenya are turning to secularism or indigenous spirituality due to a lack of engagement from the church.

Develop youth-focused ministries that use music, sports, and digital media to share the gospel in relatable ways.

Pray for the youth of Africa, give to fund youth outreach programs, and go to mentor and disciple young leaders.

Day 15: Mobilizing the African Church for Missions

Isaiah 6:8 – “And I heard the voice of the Lord saying, ‘Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?’ Then I said, ‘Here I am! Send me.'”

Africa is not just a mission field—it is also a mission force. The African church has a unique ability to reach its own people and beyond.

Churches in Uganda, Rwanda, and Ghana are beginning to send missionaries to other African nations, showcasing the potential of intra-continental missions.

Empower African churches with resources, training, and funding to send missionaries.

Pray for African missionaries,  give to equip these churches, and go to partner with their efforts.  #SendMeLord #AfricanMissionForce #GoAndGroan

Day 16: Creative Approaches to Evangelism

1 Corinthians 9:22 – “To the weak I became weak, that I might win the weak. I have become all things to all people, that by all means I might save some.”

Reaching people often requires innovative methods tailored to their context. Creativity can open doors where traditional approaches cannot.

In countries like Morocco  and Mauritania creative evangelism such as using arts sports  and cultural storytelling has proven effective in sharing the gospel in culturally appropriate ways.

Ideas for Reaching More People

  1. Host sports outreach events where the gospel can be shared during halftime discussions.
  2. Develop Christian music and films in local languages to spread the message subtly but powerfully.
  3. Use storytelling and oral traditions to communicate Bible truths in areas with low literacy rates.

Pray for creativity, give to support innovative ministries, and go to implement new ideas in the mission field.

Day 17: The Role of Business in Missions

Proverbs 22:29 – “Do you see a man skillful in his work? He will stand before kings; he will not stand before obscure men.”

Business can be a gateway to missions, especially in restricted countries where traditional missionaries are not welcomed. Marketplace ministry allows believers to live out their faith while engaging with unreached communities.

Countries like Algeria and Libya are opening up to foreign professionals in fields like education, healthcare, and technology, presenting unique opportunities for workplace evangelism.

Ideas for Reaching More People:

  1. Train professionals to integrate faith into their work in culturally sensitive ways.
  2. Establish business as mission (BAM) initiatives to create sustainable platforms for sharing the gospel.
  3. Launch vocational training programs tied to Bible studies in underserved areas.

Pray for believers in the marketplace, give to fund BAM initiatives, and go as a professional missionary.

Day 18: Reaching the Persecuted and Hidden

Hebrews 13:3- “Remember those who are in prison, as though in prison with them, and those who are mistreated, since you also are in the body.”

Many Christians in Africa face persecution, forcing them into secrecy. Reaching these hidden believers and those seeking truth requires discretion and sensitivity.

In Eritrea, thousands of Christians are imprisoned for their faith. Despite persecution, underground churches are flourishing.

– Ideas for Reaching More People:

  1. Provide covert training and discipleship materials to underground leaders.
  2. Use encrypted apps secure communication platforms for teaching and encouragement.
  3. Develop support networks to help persecuted believers thrive spiritually and emotionally.

Pray for persecuted Christians, give to support their needs, and go to minister in hidden and challenging places.

Day 19: Discipleship for Long-Term Impact

Matthew 28:19-20 – “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations… teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you.”

The goal of missions is not just to win converts but to make disciples who will, in turn, disciple others. Sustainable growth depends on this multiplication.

In regions like Chad  and Mali, many new believers lack proper discipleship, making them vulnerable to reverting to previous beliefs.

Ideas for Reaching More People:

  1. Develop mobile discipleship programs that follow up with new believers through digital platforms.
  2. Equip local leaders with Bible-based training materials** in their native languages.
  3. Host disciple-making workshops in strategic locations to empower church leaders.

Pray for committed discipleship, give to resource training programs, and **go** to mentor new believers.
